Yesterday was another volunteer involvement (VOLT-IN) day for the Brgy. San Juan eCenter Project in Brgy. San Juan, Taytay, Rizal. About more than ten college students from two nearby colleges were there to attend the orientation day for prospective volunteers. Thanks a lot to all the prospective VOLTS who want to put more brain and muscle into the program. We also had discussions about the computer clubhouse model and the learning programs that we are going to do in the centers. Most volunteers were just receptive of the computer clubhouse model or interest-based learning but there were some who had a different reaction and who were not all that fully sold to the clubhouse model of learning. This made me ponder why. And I can just surmise that maybe we are not really used to this unique model of learning, hence, the unfamiliarity, breeds some sort of 'fear', in our part to try it out for ourselves. Maybe the 'fear' or unfamiliarity is justified for some reasons but still, my gut feeling tells me that this learning model deserves a try and I am hoping that this model would be a big success in the Brgy. San Juan eCenter Project!
